Welcome to the Mecosta Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Our chapter was organized in June 1959 with Frances Chapman (Mrs. Lowell) as Organizing Regent. The DAR is a service organization dedicated to historical preservation, promotion of educational and patriotic endeavors, conservation of natural resources, and support of our troops both active and veteran. Our chapter meets and participates in activities in and around the Big Rapids, MI, area.

The Official Insignia was unanimously adopted by the Board of Management on May 26, 1891, and patented September 22, 1891. The insignia is represented by the:

Golden Wheel - Spinning Wheel
Platinum of White Gold Distall - Flax
Blue Rim and the Distaff - Colors of the Society
Stars - Original Thirteen Colonies
