Oct 21, 1738 from John Goad of [blank parish and county], to John Hightower
of (North Farnham) in (Richmond County), planter, for 1800 pounds of tobacco
and for several other good causes, all that messuage, tenement, tract or
parcel of land in (North Farnham) in (Richmond County), containing about
80 acres bounded by Deacus' Road opposite said Hightower's house running
down a line between that and Peter Goad to the head of a branch of Farnham
Cr, thence to Abraham Goad, the line of the land formerly belonging to
Thomas Durham to a corner between him and Mr. Mitchel, thence up the line
of Mr. Mitchel to a corner over the Rowling Road between him and James
Wilison, to said Hightower's line. John Goad and Katherine, his wife, within
6 months, shall at any courts to be held for (Richmond County), upon Hightower's
reasonable request, personally or by power of attorney, acknowledge the
deed.
