Page 240. Dec 1, 1735 William Downman North Farnham in Richmond
County, gent, for one messuage, tenement, or tract of land to said Downman
conveyed by Thomas Bryan, of same, planter, in exchange, by deed dated
today and also for divers other good causes, Downman grants Bryan all that
messuage, tenement, & tract of land in North Farnham in Richmond containing
about 40 acres, it being a parcel of land which said Downman bought of
Abram Goad & William, his son, bounded by the north side of Will'm
Goad's plantation, the line of Fantleroy, Fowler's line which line was
last surveyed by Cob: Charles Barber, thence through a skirt of woods.
Downman will not be compelled to travel above 30 miles to execute this
