Sale by Peter amd Mary M. Goad  to Adam Berry,
February 12, 1859

Sullivan County, Tennesse, Book 19, pg. 522 & 523

Peter Goad and Mary M. Goad his wife of Sullivan County in the State of Tennessee for the consideration of three hundred and forty eight dollars to me in hand paid him this day bargained and sold and do hereby convey unto Adam Berry and to his heirs and assigns forever a track of the land in the State of Tennessee in Sullivan County in District No. 15 in the valley of Cinch branch adjoining the lands of N.E. Carr the Gilman tract & others and bounded as following.  Beginning at a white Oak in a line of the old Bragg tract now the Gilman land thence South one hundred and four poles to a white oak on the top of a knob thence South 75 West twelve poles & ten links to a hickory thence north 71 and forty nine poles to a rock on a the north side of the branch thence ___ 73 East thirteen and one fourth poles to a hickory north 52 West sixty poles to a stake & position thence (Next two lines and not copied)

Barns and to his heirs and assigns forever and on the said Peter Goad and Mary M. Goad for ourselves and our heirs and assigns will forever warrant and defend the title to the above tract of land and wh. part thereof free from all grazing whatever boathe in law and Equity.    Witness our hand and seal this 12th day of Feby 1859

Personally appeared before me John C. Rutledge Clerk of the County for said County William Mullins and Jessie W. Roberts subscribing witness to the written instrument who being first

sworn depose and say that they are acquainted with Peter Goad and Mirinda Goad the bargainees and that they acknowledge the same in their presence to be their act and deed for the purposes therein the  contained
Witness my hand at office this 19th day of Feby 1859

Fams court privately and apart from her husband relative to her free execution of the within as annexed deed the same so taken certify  under your hand and seal.  Witness John C. Rutledge of the County Court of Sullivan County and at office this 19th day of Feby  1859

Mirinda Goad wife Peter Goad having personally appeared before me and having by virtue of the authority in me vested have examined privately and apart from her said husband and

she having acknowledged the due execution of the of within deed by him freely voluntarily and understand
ingly without compulsion or constraint by her said husband and for the purposes therein expressed the same
is therefore certified Witness my hand and seal this 17th day of March 1859
