Indenture between Peter Goad and Mary M. Goad, his wife, 10/4/1856

This indenture made this fourth day of October one thousand and eight hundred and fifty six between Peter Goad of the County of Sullivan and State of Tennessee of this one part and Mary M. Goad my wife and heir being all of the county and state aforesaid of the other part Witnessth that the said Peter Goad for and in consideration of the love he has to his family the receipt is hereby acknowledge hath this day given granted and transferred unto her the said Mary M. Goad and her heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land ____ lying and being in the County and State aforesaid on the waters of horse Creek including the plantation and land where said Goad now lives.  The State of Tennessee granted to Thomas Pearcy of No. 9424 dated 28th of October 1824 containing one hundred and forty acres except one and one half acre that said Pearcy conveyed to the trustees of the fifteenth common School District of Sd. city for the benefit of a School house and for the use of said district said one and one half acres ____ of at the beginning of said grant on Lynches branch
the land intended to be conveyed to said Mary M. Goad and her heirs Beginning on David Braggs line at Lynches Branch thence West one hundred poles to two white Oak thnce South eighty eight poles to two white Oaks then West one hundred and eight poles to live Black Oak and a hickory thence south thirty six poles to two birch trees and gums on a hill thence south fifty eight east twenty four poles to a cucumber thence East twenty poles to a Oak thence South forty six poles to a stake thence thirty six degrees East forty seven poles to an Iron Wood sappling thence East fifty one poles to a black Oak sapling and pointers thence a direct line to the beginning together with all the woods, ways, waters
Many minerals hereunto appertaining to the premises with all the right ____ Right ____ interest property claim and demand whatever thence the said ____ on or to the premises or any Pet. there of to hold to the said Mary M. Goad ____ can assigns against ____ the said Peter Goad and against all and any other person or persons whenever lawfully causing by from or underline them or any of them I shall and will warrant and format defend in indefeasable inheritance in a fee simple In witness whereof the said Peter Goad have herewith set his hand & seal the day and date above written.  Signed

Rutledge Clerk of the County Court for said County David Murphy and Jesse Robert subscribing witnesses to the within deed who being first sworn depose and say that they are acquainted with Peter Goad the bargainer and that they saw him signed sealed and execute the same
witness my hand at office Blountvile Aug. 2nd day of November 1857
