Note - some of the minutes included in this series are for families known to have been connected with the Goads in Virginia.

Ordered by Court that James McElhaney be appointed overseer of the road from, Shockleys to where the road intersects the Sparta road to Pikeville, and keep at the same in repair as the law requires, and that the following hands work thereon Towit: James Goard, Benjamin Yeats, Thomas Jackson, Wm. Shockley, William McElhiney, Henry McElhiney, Josiah Cole, Arthur Parker, Christopher Stokely, Samuel Shockley, Richd. Shockley, Josiah Shockley, senr., and Rhodam Doyle. Issd.
