WILLIAM SMYTH died Bef October 02, 1699 in North Farnham Parish, Richmond Co., VA. He married EVE

Notes

William and Eve apparently had no children other than Eve's chidren by John Williams. John Williams is not mentioned in the will of either William Smyth or Eve, though both had wills. Katherine is mentioned. Alderman beieves that this suggests that the son, John, may have died young, though of course there are probably a myriad of reason for not being mentioned in a will.

On 2nd of April 1696, p 133 "WILLIAM SMITH of the County of Richmond, Carpenter. brought his action in this Court against WILLIAM RICHARDSON of the said County, Planter."

Will Written Feb. 9, 1699; proved Oct. 2, 1699. Bequests left to grandchildren Hannah and "John" Goad, with remainder to his wife.

In the "THE GOADS - A FRONTIER FAMILY," it says, "I question whether the above was not meant to read " to Hanah and WILLIAM Goad" as William was born in 1693, John not until 1700."

(from THE GOADS - A FRONTIER FAMILY, Second Edition, by Kenneth F. Haas - KFH's source for much of this information was John Perry Alderman)

William is identified in a Land Grant of 1694 by Lord Proprietors, 84 - 320 acres

There were several William Smiths in Richmond County. They were identified in various documents by descriptive terms: William, William Junr, William (Capt & Co. in Bristol), William Senr, William (Carpenter), William (Shoemaker), William (Upon the Hills), William (Upon the Road).
