Notes on the Surname Index

The newsletter index includes historical names, such as those of ancestors in queries and articles and individuals in the extracted records.  Married names were included as well as the maiden name where this was feasible and obvious from the record, whether or not the married name was used.

Authors and contemporary persons, such as members named in Society news, are not included.
