The
1884 Portage Township Censuswas transcribed and
published in the Kalamazoo Valley
Heritage in November 2005.
This is a very important census when you
consider that the majority of the 1890 Federal
Census was destroyed by a fire at the
Commerce Department in Washington, DC on
January 10, 1921.
