- The first thing is to thank all the people who have written about the area.
Here are a few of the many people:
- Talcott Wing of Monroe - who wrote a history of Monroe County around 1880.
- Samuel W. Beakes - who wrote one of the histories of Washtenaw County.
- Anna Delafore - who wrote a ten page history of Milan around 1900.
- Arleigh Squire - who edited the 1976 history of Milan.
- Warren Hale - who has been writing a column in the Milan News-Leader newspaper
for the past 25 years or so.
- Pat Majher - who is writing articles about the Milan Area Historical Society
in the Milan News-Leader.
- I also want to thank all the people who are members of genealogical and historical
societies. Especially those who have served as officers, board members, committee
members and the many workers who make things work.
- Next I want to list a few rules I am trying to follow in developing these Web Pages.
- KISS - Keep it Simple Stupid
- Any image used will slow down user performance.
- Some images and color are needed to make the site more interesting.
- The trade off is to use small images rather than large images.
- I am getting old and my vision is bad - therefore stay away from fancy fonts
- I am going to use a silver background, since I can still read the characters on the
screen.
- I will also try and document where my information was found.
- Mistakes will be made, so feel free to let me know about my mistakes
( e-mail to MoreyAtMilan @ Comcast.net ).
