Page 38 of Walter Romig's Michigan Place Names says:
"Azalia, Monroe County:
Stephen B. Frink became the first postmaster
of East Milan (named from its location in Milan Township) on Aug. 4, 1869;
Reeves and son operated the Star Bending Company here and the place was
also known as Reeves Station; on Sept. 1, 1887, the post office was
renamed Azalia to correspond with its railroad depot which had been named
for the daughter of an Executive of the road [Wm L. Noble, PM; PO Archives]."
Azalia is located southeast of Milan.
