He was born in a lumber camp north of Grand Rapids and was an orphan at the age of 8 which means that his parents died in 1871 or so. He had 2 sisters, Emma and June. If any one can help with a lookup for them, I would appreciate it so very much. I don't have access to the courthouse and my family doesn't care about it. QRYTEXT: My adoptive mother always affectionately referred to her paternal grandmother as "my marryin' grandma". Katherine HILDEBRAND was born in Germany. Her first husband was named LINDER and we are fairly certain that they were married in this country. The couple had two children: a daughter, Catherine and a son whose name we do currently not know. Katherine's Linder husband died. She later married a RITCHIE, who distinguished himself by absconding back to Germany with $23,000...never to be heard from again. Katherine's third husband was Conrad MOHR; she had one son (my grandfather, Julius Mohr) by him before he died in 1874. There may have been any number of husbands after that, but we do know that her final marriage was to a man surnamed KUHN. She lies buried in the Lutheran Potter's Field section of the Kendallville, IN cemetery. I am currently trying to trace Katherine's LINDER son. The one thing we do know is that the last address for him was Sheridan, Montcalm Co., Michigan. A half-cousin of my mother's remembers when her father, along with my grandfather (Julius Mohr), my Uncle Fred and Aunt Clara all traveled up there for the LINDER son's 50th anniversary. This event must have occured between 1931 [the year my Uncle Fred and Aunt Clara married] and before 11 June, 1938 [which was when my Grandpa Mohr died.] I am hoping that the LINDER son may also have died in Montcalm Co. Any assistance anyone can give me with this knotty research problem would be sincerely appreciated.
