Bloomer Township

The settlements in Bloomer township, are Carson City, and Butternut. The first settlement was located along the Fish Creek and was established in 1852. It was named by one of the first settlers whose home was Carson City, Nevada. Both saw mills and lumbering were profitable ventures in this settlement. It was incorporated as a village in 1887 and as acity in 1960. Not much is currently known about the history of Butternut, but that village has faded away with time.
