Leslie was the son of Marshall & Corinne Sherd; Mildred was the daughter of another early settler to the Vickeryville area, Marcius W. Hoyt and his wife Hannah May Greenhoe. Leslie & Mildred were the parents of 10 children, including Marshall Joseph Sherd. They resided in Fenwick.
