Crystal Township


The settlement in Crystal township, is also called Crystal. Chippewa and Ottawa Indians were the first settlers of this area. The first white settler was John W. Smith. He first came to the settlement in 1853. The area was named for the "Crystal Clear" waters of the nearby lake. The township was incorporated in 1856 and the village was founded in 1868.
