Douglass Township
The settlements in Douglass township, include Entrican and the north-west corner of Stanton. The county seat was originally called Fred after Mr. Fred Hall of Ionia from whom 40 acres of land was purchased for the town. The price of the purchase was $50.00. In 1863, the village was renamed after Edwin M. Stanton, Secretary of War.
No specific history of Entrican is known, except for the one by Agnes Comden, (see link below).
