She, and her mother, were called Morningstar, which I find is a common name. They both were members of Midewiwin, a secret medicine soceity. I don't know Harriets last name. My mother was born at Caro Mi., and use to go to the Pow Wows with them. Other names somehow connected to family are-Old Squams, Chief Missaukee. Claud was born in 1882. That is the oldest date I have. I would love any more information I can get. As claud tried to hide all Native American connection he destroyed all paperwork. My snailmail is 6716 E. Comments: i am looking for any info on ROBERT HENRY HENDRIX. He was born on 06/01/1885, i believe in Amherstburg Ontario. I have been told he was Ojibwe with possible links to Golden Lake Algonquin tribe. His mother's name may have been JENNY FORKS but I have also seen it written as Jenny Frankford and his father was 'LUD' HENDRIX. This info was found on public records that indicate he had to depend on someone else to fill out the forms as he couldn't read or write so I don't know how dependable the info is. He was my father, i am an adoptee, and what little i know has been told to me by 'found' family members who say they didn't know much because he was born so long ago that the people who would know anything have walked on long ago. I am looking for tribal affiliation and family. If any one has heard of these people I would appreciate it if you could contact me. Thanks so much. Toni gashimukwa@webtv.net

Comments: I am searching for information on my great grandmother, allegedly a Chippewa Indian from Michigan,
daughter of a chief. Her name was Saladine BELISLE. Her parents were Julien & Calistique DELERE.
I presently have a copy of her marriage certificate, extracted from the Office of The Registrar General,
Toronto, Ontario CA, which indicates her marriage to Henry AUBIE on Feb. 13, 1871 at Eganville,
Renfrew County Ontario CA. She was 17 years old at the time of this marriage. Henry AUBIE allegedly
was a French Canadian surveyor who traveled to Michigan and was forced to stay there during a very
severe winter. During that winter he was allowed to stay with Chippewa Indians where he met and
married Saladine BELISLE, perhaps in a tribal ceremony, later in a clergy officiated ceremony. Can
anyone assist me in verifying that my great grandmother Saladine BELISLE was a Chippewa Indian?
Any help will ne greatly appreciated.

Location: Gaylord, Michigan

Comments: WINKLEPEE/TINKAPAUGH. Looking for ancestry of Phema Clark Shaw who was born 1856 in Clinton or Gratiot County, child of John Clark and Elizabeth Morris. In reunion book it was noted that Phema's grandmother was Winklepee. Any leads on the name would be appreciated.

Stay tuned for future updates!
