Northville Genealogical Society

PIONEER CERTIFICATES

The Society will award a PIONEER CERTIFICATE to anyone who can prove that an ancestor lived in this area (Plymouth, Plymouth Township, Northville, Northville Township, and Novi) in 1880 or earlier. The applicant does not have to be a current resident to apply.

The applicant will be required to provide documentary proof of the residency of the ancestor as well as proof of lineage from that ancestor, such as copies of birth, marriage, death, tax, census records, etc. The instructions will include a list of sources for acceptable proofs.

The information provided by the applicants will be indexed and kept in the Society's files and will provide a permanent record for use by researchers both locally and nationwide.

The completed application and proofs must be submitted to the Society with a check for $7.50 for each certificate.
