(Dated April 20, 1950) MANKOWSKI RITES AT ST.MARY'S

Funeral services for Jacob Mankowski, 78 years old, well-known Otsego county farmer for more than 40 years, were to be this morning in St. Mary's church. The Rev. Francis Kaminski, pastor, was celebrant of the requiem high mass at 9 a.m. and conducted services at the parish cemetery.

Bearers were Edward and Jack Rolinski, Stanley Koscielniak, and Richard Borowiak of this city, and Jerry Gannon and Walter Ratza both of Saginaw, all grandsons.

Mr. Mankowski died Monday morning at his home on South Wisconsin street, where he has been in serious condition since Christmas.

Born in Poland, July 13, 1871, Mr. Mankowski came to this country in 1896. Mr. And Mrs. Mankowski were married in Germany, October 25, 1893. Settling first in Pennsylvania, Mr. And Mrs. Mankowski came to Otsego county in 1909. They operated a farm east of the city until eight years ago when they moved to Gaylord.

Surviving besides the widow are six daughters, Mrs. Lucy Ratza of Saginaw, Mrs. Roman Borowiak, Mrs. Carl Rolinski, Mrs. Frank Koscielniak, all of Gaylord. Mrs. Jacob Youngs of Dearborn, and Mrs. Lawrence Kenny of Saginaw; two sons, John and Frank Mankowski of Gaylord; two brothers, Valentine of Gaylord and Joseph of LaSalle, Ill, 48 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.
