Marriage of H. Rye and Miss Jennie Watson.
H. Rye, of Pickford, and Miss Jennie Watson, from near Sterlingwille, were united in marriage Thursday of last week, at the residence of the bride's parents by the Rev. J. T. Purdee, of Pickford. The young couple was attended by Miss Mary Watson and David Rye. Among others present were: Misses Ruth and Hannah Rye, M and S. Fleming, Aggie and Jemina Watson, and Grace Adams; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rye; Messrs. George and Albert Rye, George and James Watson, John Sterling, David Hill. The wedding party drove to Pickford, where a reception was given at the residence of the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rye, in the evening.
Gabriel Carlson and Miss Maria Hagelaun, of Raber, were united in holy matrimony at St. James' church, July 6, by the Rev. P. T. Rowe, M. A.

On Monday Sept. 4., will occur the marriage of a well known young couple, invitations to which were issued this week. The principals are Frederick B. Smith, one of the county's young and prosperous school teachers, and Miss Minnie G., the charming daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Walz, of this place. The ceremony will occur at the residence of the bride's parents.
Pickford (Speicial Correspondence)
A very pleasant event took place on Wednesday last at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. George Walz, of this place. This was the marriage of their charming daughter, Miss Minnie G., to Fred B. Smith, of Bay Mills. The bride was attired in a beautiful brown satin and looked lovely. The presents were numerous and costly. The ceremony was performed by Rev. J. W. Holt and was witnessed by a large number of friends and relatives of the contracting parties. The happy couple left for their future home in Bay Mills shortly after the ceremony.

Robert Stephenson, of Stalward, and Miss Aggie Greer, of Greer settlement, were married in the Soo on Thursday. We wish the happy couple much joy and a prosperous journey through life.

Mrs. F. H. Taylor and Mrs. John Henderson will go to Goderich, in June to attend the wedding of Mrs. Taylor's sister, Miss Gertie Salkeld, who will be united in marriage to John Sorby of Grand Rapids, Mich.

Mrs. F. H. Taylor left for her home in Goderich, Ont. Friday, to attend the wedding of her sister Miss Gertie Salkeld June 6. She took all the children with her.
Samuel W. Pickford was united in marriage with Miss Kate Sparrow in Toronto, Thursday. After a homeymoon of three weeks they will return to the Soo, where they will be at home to their friends after September 20. Mr. Pickford is the junior member of the firm of C. W. Pickford & Son, day goods merchant. He is a young man of promise and has thorough business qualifications. The bride is the daughter of W. H. Sparrow, a wealthy and well known Toronto merchant. Mr. Pickford has leased one of the Jackson cottages, where he and the bride will reside They will receive a warm welcome and THE NEWS joins with Mr. and Mrs. Pickford's friends in heartfelt congratulations.
James Wilson, of Pickford, and Mrs. Delphyna Sabin, of the Soo, were united in marriage, Jan. 17, at the M E parsonage by Rev. C.M. Thompson.

Thos. Gray and Miss Mina Tripp, of Stalwart, were married Monday evening at to M.E. parsonage by the Rev. C. M. Thompson.
Pickford (Special Correspondence) At the residence of the bride's parents on Wednesday, at 2 o'clock, Edward Steele and Miss Nora Wannocott were united in the holy bonds of matrimony by the Rev. H. Gillingham. The young couple are well known and have the best wishes of their many friends.
To be Wedded Next Week
Wm. Beacon and Miss Katie M. Hannah, of Pickford, were no doubt surprised and considerably embarrassed as well when they learned by the enterprising Democrat this week that they were to be married last week. The fact is that their nuptials will occur at the residence of the bride's mother Mrs. Hannah, at Pickford next Wednesday evening. Mr. Beacon runs a saw mill at Pickford, and a brother of David Beacon, the well known Pickford merchant. He has resided in this county for 11 years. The prospective bride is an accomplished young lady.
Andrew Gray and Katie Walker, both of Stirling, were united in matrimony at the M. E. parsonage last Monday by the Rev. C. M. Thompson.
