Redford Township Historical and Genealogical Society

The Redford Township Historical and Genealogical Society General Membership Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month, from September through June. The Business meeting begins at 12:30pm, followed by a Program, and is held at the Historic School No. 9 (It is actually a little red schoolhouse), 12259 Beech Daly Road, Redford, Michigan 48239 (Located in front of the 24-Hour Redford Post Office, two blocks north of Plymouth Road). Parking is available north of the building.

Historic Schoolhouse No. 9 is maintained by the Historical Commission of the Charter Township of Redford. The Commission graciously permits us to meet there and to store our collection of genealogy material with their historical material. On most Wednesday (other than our meeting days) the Commission opens the schoolhouse from 12:00pm until 3:00pm to allow people to do genealogical or historical research.

From Downriver Area

Take I-75 North to Exit 35 Telegraph Road. Turn left onto Telegraph Road.

Go approx. 12 miles, Turn left onto Plymouth Road Go Approx 1 miles,

Turn right onto Beech Daly Road. Go approx. 1 mile,

Red School House is located on left side in front of US Post Office.

From Detroit and Northern Suburbs

Take I-75 South to Exit 215c I-94 West for about 21/2 miles, then exit right onto I-96.

Go approx. 12 miles to Beech Daly Road exit 178. Turn left into Beech Daly Road.

Red School House is located on right side approx. 1 mile South in front of US Post Office.
