Confirmed: Trip to St. Charles Museum Canceled: Person is out of the Country. Field trip to the Grace A. Dow Library in Midland. We could invite members of Beatrice Lovelace's family (and her as well) to give a presentation. I read about her in the Midland UCC newsletter. She was 90 as of October 2009. She is from Massachusetts and her parents are from Nova Scotia. Her father was a plant engineer for a company that made underwear and Union suits. Her and her sister Pauline were models. That company became The Carter Company children's clothing. She was a naval nurse and among her patients were Rose Kennedy, Anthony Eden, the PM of England, John Jacob Astor's wife, John F. Kennedy (after the PT boat injuries), among others. She sounds very interesting and would be a meeting that is different (not something people have been to before). Her son Bruce is retired from Dow Chemical. He has her scrapbooks and dabbles in genealogy. Could be a good fit! |
