Clark's Store - Lacota, Mich.
This store was started by Benjaman R. Clark (Great-grandfather of Jerry Clark). It was first started South-West of town and moved to Lacota when the railroad came through. In approximately 1880 he sold it to his son Frank Jay Clark who operated it for over 50 years. The brick building was built approximately 1905 with the insurance money from the death of his wife Ada Izora Combs Clark who died in 1904. The small building to the right of the store in the picture was a millinery shop operated by Julia Etta Bliss Clark - wife of Benjaman Clark and Great-grandmother of Jerry Clark. Julia Etta and Benjamin R. Clark lived in the house on the South side of the store.
