Volunteers

Volunteers are an integral part of the Van Buren Regional Genealogical Society. There are two basic way to volunteer:
1. Activities and Projects
There are many projects in process which require assistance in transcription, proofing, cutting and clipping, indexing, programs, and much more.
2. Local History Room
VBRGS sponsors the volunteer program in the Local History Room at the Webster Memorial Library. Since this room is open to the public 58 hours per week, it has been necessary to provide additional volunteer staffing to assist visiting researchers, handle incoming telephone inqueries, and help monitor the overall security of the facility. Time volunteered is up to the individual and is scheduled on month-to-month basis. Hours range from 4 hours, one day a month, to a few hours a week.

If you are interested in providing any kind of volunteer assistance either at home or at the Local History Room of the Webster Memorial Library, please contact Toni I. Benson at tbenson@vbdl.org or call (616)423-4771.
