Chisago County--I am looking for info on a man who listed Rush City as a desination when he left Sweden. The spelling of the name may have been changed when he came to the U.S. Erik O. LYCKANDER left Sweden in 1888 at the age of 20. His sister Kristina came from Sweden in 1893 and when she was on the ship her name was listed as LEANDER. I grew up in Chisago County. My grandparents surname was KROONBLAWD and they lived in Chisago County and are buried in Lindstrom. I have done extensive research on their ancestors in Sweden. Looking for any information on William WOLF born 1840, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Came to Chisago County with his father, brother Frederick who married Alice Wilkes and sister Doris in 1857. After serving in the Civil War, William married Johanne Julie WINGES in 1869, and had the following children: Frederick J, Minnie, Caroline Elizabeth, Elizabeth Rose, Henry William, and William E Wolf.
My grandparents spent many weekends with the WINGES family in Rush City. And the Winges family visited them in Lake Elmo many weekends. My Grandmother will be 105 February 28, 2003, and still talks about the Winges and Wolf family.
I am researching information on the WINGES family who lived on a farm near Rush City, Chisago County, MN.

All are buried in the cemetery on Rush Lake except Friedrich WULF (buried in Sunrise). Area of focus is probably Nessel, Rush City and Sunrise. John Boeck's daughter, Bertha Boeck (16 Oct 1883 - 14 Oct 1917) was my great-grandmother. She died in St. Paul so long ago that nobody still alive remembers her. I am looking for other descendants of these individuals, family photographs or any other material.
I have recently obtained an old book from an auction in Rush City. Chisago County Minnesota in the World War is the title. It was published in March, 1920 by The Chisago County War History Committee. It is black with an eagle on the front of it. I found only two for sale on the internet at $135.00 each. One was in a little book store in Harris, MN called Log Cabin Books. If you know any one that may be interested in purchasing this book from me could you please give them my email address. The book is in very good shape and could probably be of good use to someone.
