Historical Information: Adam Stein donated the one acre of land for the cemetery after his son, John M. Stein, was killed by lightning while mowing hay. This acre was to be divided, one half for the Protestant churches and the other half for the Catholic church. The cemetery was later give the name 'Wild Rose' Cemetery because of all the wild roses growing there.

The information in this listing was compiled from a variety of sources including the Georgetown History Book compiled by Sylvia Larson, Wright's Funeral Home records, and church records from the Christ Lutheran Church and St. John's Catholic Church.
