On Friday evening, the 2d inst., a large circle of friends assembled at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Tryon, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their marriage. The house was almost filled to overflowing. It took the nature of a surprise party, and "mine host" stood speechless when he saw team after team driven up with their jolly set, each seemed to vie with the other in making everything "merry as a marriage bell". The ceremony was performed by "our worthy Squire," at which time the happy pair were presented with their first "baby", all done up in rags. But the bride thought that a little "too thin."
