Tips for Searching the Index to
Germanic Genealogy Journal
This alphabetical index lists topics in Germanic
genealogy found in articles published in the Germanic Genealogy Journal.
(It is not a surname index.)
- Click the first letter of the topic. For example, P
for Pomerania.
- On the page for that letter, say P, browse the
topics by scrolling.
- Use the “find on this page” search feature of your
Internet browser to locate a topic or author.
- The topics include
- each German region of Europe,
- many U.S. states,
- general topics, like “How-To Articles” and “Book
Reviews,”
- German genealogy topics, like “German History,”
“German Language,” and “German Records.”
To obtain a copy of the article, note the issue volume
and number, and then
- return to the Journal web page and see if that issue
is available online, or
- read the copy in the GGS Library Collection in St.
Paul, MN, or check with your local genealogy or history library to find a
copy, or
- purchase a back issue from GGS, by clicking “Obtain
Back Issues from GGS.”
