"People and Places"

These pages contain photos and stories and whatever else I could find pertaining to the People of Dayton and the various buildings and scenery that our ancestors called "home."

Many of these photos were shared with me by various other Dayton area researchers in the hopes of bringing alive their ancestors and hopefully finding some new cousins and perhaps identifying some "unknown faces" in their pictures.

I do not live in the Dayton area, nor have I ever been there, but years of research, have made me feel like I have lived there my whole life.  There has been so much enjoyment researching this small town and learning how our immigrant ancestors ended up calling Dayton, Minnesota, their home.

We hope you enjoy visiting Dayton, People and Places.   You can visit my personal webpage, "Ancestor's Attic"  to see the extended family trees of French Canadian families that I have researched and see if any of your surnames are in my database from the Dayton and surrounding areas.

Please feel free to contact me or the Hennepin County Coordinator with any additions or corrections.  Let's make this a truly "Family Oriented Site" !

Unknown Dayton Faces
(Do You Know Us?)

There are many, many Family History stories and photos included in the Historical Cookbook of St. John The Baptist Church.   But due to copyright laws, I cannot reprint them here.
I would be more than happy to pass along the information to interested family members, or provide the information on how to order a book for yourself.  It is a very informative and fun to read book, if you have Dayton family ancestors.  I highly recommend it !
