Trying to find more information on Whitmer J. Sergeant, b. July, 1887 probably in Minneapolis (Hennepin Co.) His parents were Amos and Violet Sergeant. Violet died between 1900 and 1920 census. Amos then married Edith and Amos died in 1935. Also, any marriage info. on Amos and Violet or Amos and Edith would be helpful. Whitmer went on to be a First Sargent in the Army during WWI - any info. on his military career would be very helpful, as I have a photo of him in the 88th Div., 313th Ammunition Train. Thank you. Please help me find out who my grandfather was. Joseph Wagner owned a restaurant in Mpls in 1905 (not in city directory). He married my grandmother there on Oct. 12, 1905. Her name was Jennie/Genevieve Stearns. They built a houseboat and sailed down the Mississippi in the spring of 1906. He died in Iowa shortly afterwards. His obit tells me nothing of his German origin. I've gone to Ft. Wayne, IN, searched ship records, written to the Mpls Court House for naturalization records as well as to the Nat'l Archives. My only hope is the unindexed 1905 census. If there is anyone who has access to this, please let me know. Thank you!!

Looking for information on Joseph Pavian, b. 1875 in Mpls/St.Paul. Disappears from all MN records in 1918. Did not die in MN as MN has no death record for him. Married Viola Christensen in 1904, had son Henry in 1907. Joseph and Viola apparently separated shortly before or after Henry's birth. He, his second wife Lydia Swayze Huvens, and his 2 daughters,Winifred and Gail, lived near Minnehaha Falls for 2 years, where the girlsattended Minnehaha School.
