Our French
Genealogy
Miscellaneous French Lines

Our mother's French ancestry was almost a complete surprise
to me as I only vaguely remembered her telling us that she
was "Irish, French & Welsh". Little did I expect that it
would read like a "who's who" of French Canadian and/or
Acadian genealogy.

Luckily
many Acadian, French Canadian and French researchers have
kindly taken mercy on my not reading or speaking French and
helped with much of this, including our drawn-out discussion
on soc.genealogy.french regarding the disputed
FOREST genealogy, which I had originally found on the
Ancestral File at my local Family History Center.
Since
Denis Forest of the FOREST
Family Association kindly supplied me with 19+
generations in that family, disputed or otherwise, back to
ca 1007 a.d., many of the lines I include here may well be
direct lines and not collaterals. If you want to add a
query, please e-mail
me.
