Our Beginnings
Our chapter began in 1906 as a chapter of the Daughters of the Revolution.
On April 14, 1934, we became a chapter of the National Society of the
Daughters of the American Revolution.

Our Activities
We are an active group,
collecting items for veterans and those less fortunate than us. In addition
to hosting a Valentine's Day party for veterans, we walk or ride in the
Bloomington, Minnesota (MN) Memorial Day parade, inviting other chapters
to join us.
Recent chapter programs
have included learning about requirements for American citizenship before
attending a naturalization ceremony; a flag cremation ceremony; studying
women veterans; learning about the DAR schools; and a field trip to the
Pond Dakota Mission Historic Site in Bloomington.
We are chartered in Bloomington,
MN but meet in various places all over the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area.

Our meetings
We meet September through June, except January. We meet for dessert at
7 p.m. the second Thursday of September, October, March, April, May, and
June. In November our meeting is at 1 p.m. In December we meet at 12 noon
for our holiday luncheon. In February we host a Valentine's Day party
for Veterans in one of the MN Veterans Homes.
Please see our calendar
for
this year's dates.

Our Members
We have one member serving as a State Officer, several members serving
the State Society as committee chairs of national committees, and one
member serving as national vice chairman for the North Central Division.
