--------VISIT TO LAND 2005-TENTATIVE PROGRAM-------
Friday 6/3/05 or
Saturday 6/04/05 - Arrival.
Program: Joint supper at Randsfjorden Golf Hotell. The supper is planned hosted by the mayor of Søndre Land.
Sunday 6/05/05 - "Bygdedag" at Lands Museum.
Program: Noon: The “Bygdedag” starts at noon. It will require most of the day.
20:00:(8:00PM) Church service at the Skute church. Coffee and a light meal at the Ringelien farm after the service.
Monday 6/06/05 - No official program. One can go shopping, relax, play golf or visit with family and friends. However, the museum will be open for genealogy work, and a “happening” with the focus on the Middle Ages will take place. A tour visiting the many churches of Land might be organized.
Afternoon program: Supper at the Ankalterud farm. The supper is planned hosted by the mayor of Nordre Land.
Tuesday 6/07/05 - Dissolution Centennial. We visit the exhibit at Maihaugen, Lillehammer.
Afterwards it will be a choice of additional sight-seeing of the Olympic facilities, the Norwegian Olympic museum, the home of the Nobel Prize winner Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson, Aulestad, shopping etc. at Lillehammer based on individual preferences and interests.
We plan a joint lunch at Kanten Kro, at the top of the ski jump.
The bus leaves for home sometime in the afternoon.
Wednesday 6/08/05 - We suggest a train ride on "Valdresbanen" from Dokka to Gjøvik. The train ride on this vintage railroad is in itself an experience, and we plan a picnic/lunch at Odnes in the famous and scenic "Dokka delta" wetlands, or later on the train depending on the departure time from Dokka. At Gjøvik we continue on the steamboat "Skibladner" on the lake Mjøsa, where we enjoy their famous dish of salmon and strawberries. Travel back to Land will be by bus sometime that evening.
Thursday 6/09/05 - End of program in Land, and the participants continue on a "Tour of Norway" trip or whatever people prefer.
