Offering a researchers room, growing collection of donated family history books, a copy machine and a microfilm reader. Microfilm collection includes most of the McLeod County newspapers, Minnesota Federal Census and Naturalization papers (no microfilm copier). Requests should be directed to Gerry Stifter, volunteer archivist. We will do look-ups etc. We charge $10 per hour for researches, with a one hour minimum. In addition we charge 25¢ per copy and postage for mailing copies. We have copies of the township clerk's birth and death records for Bergen, Hale and Winsted townships as an additional reference source.
The McLeod County Genealogy Society, a branch of the McLeod County Historical Society, meets on the third Monday of each month at 7:00pm. The McLeod County Historical Society has an extensive archive of deaths, births and other events clipped from newspapers and indexed for easy retrieval.Please note: See the McLeod County Historical Society's web site for further information regarding admission fees, etc.
