Morrison County was established February 26, 1856 and named in honor of William and Allen Morrison, fur traders who explored much of northern Minnesota.
Morrison County is centrally located in the state of Minnesota. Its area is 1,154.82 square miles. The Mississippi River splits the county in two, running from north to south.
The county seat is Little Falls.
