| I remember a vacation my parents took to Hinkley, MN., with me when I was very young. We visited a lady by the name of Jenny Jackson, who was a friend of my maternal grandmother (Anna Ottilia (Nilsdotter) Eriksson). From what I have been told, Hinkley was the first home in the USA for my grandmother and I was wondering if Jenny Jackson was the lady who sponsored my grandmother. I am hoping that some of Jenny Jackson's family are working on Family Genealogy also and that we might be able to exchange copies of pictures and family trees. |

They had two more children, Lena Lillian and Horace Bennett Jr. Ella was the superintendant of schools either here, or White Bear Lake where they moved after the fire of 1894. Supposedly their family escape on the train that was able to take away some of the people. Can anyone verify any of this? Are there any cemetery records? My father graduated from Normal School (Teacher's College) in Pine City,
circa 1918 - 1920. He may have been married while in Pine City, to an Alice,
last name unknown. There is a big gap in my father's history from 1910 until
1920, where he is teaching school in Lady Smith, Wisc. I do not believe the
Normal School still exists in Pine City, but would love any information that
is available. Many Thanks. Ed Castle

I'm looking for information on the surname Lehto. Matti Lehto or Lehtola
(it was changed when he immigrated) came to the US in 1890 and settled in
the "iron range" duluth area. He died there 4/23/56. He had a brother that
moved there as well. He went by the name Petteri (Pekka) Lehto maybe Lehtola.

I'd like to find the cemetery where my husband's great-grandparents are buried.
All I know about them is that they were living in Pine Co. during the 1920
census. They were Martin NIELSEN and his wife Anna (ANDERSEN). They came
from Denmark in 1883. I have no idea when they died or where they are buried.
I'm planning a trip to MN later this summer. What can I expect to find in
the way of research in Pine Co?
