Old Cross Lake Cemetery

Queen Township, Section 21, Polk County, MN

The Cross Lake congregation was organized November 22, 1885.  The early members were Anton Olson, Ira Jacobs, Hans J. Rone, Halvor Halvorson an Ole O. Gropen, P.L. Jesness, Johannes Lade and Gulik Iverson.  The first pastor was the Rev. Nicolai  Heierman.  The church was built in the 1890s and in 1912 it was moved to Section 27 of Queen Twp.  The church closed about 1981.  (Also see Newer Cross Lake Cemetery)

Note:  Many of the stones in this cemetery are hard to read and are sinking.

Double check dates with the Minnesota Death Certificate Search and the SSDI.

Thankyou Ann for transcribing the cemetery and for the pictures of old Cross Lake Cemetery site and confirming the actual location of church and cemetery
