Floyd E Warner, 77, of Seaforth died Tuesday,
September 9, 1997 at the Fairview University Hospital
in Minneapolis. Mass of Christian Burial was held
Saturday morning from St. Mary's Catholic Church in
Seaforth with burial in the church cemetery.
Floyd E Warner was born
February 13, 1920 in Lake Preston, SD to James and
Wilda (Mattern) Warner. He moved with his family to
Seaforth around 1927, attended Seaforth and Wabasso
schools, and graduated from Wabasso High School in
1938. During World War II, Floyd served for five
years in Europe, Asia and Africa with the U.S. Army
Third Infantry. On September 24, 1946, Floyd married
Muriel Schweinfurt in St. Mary's Catholic Church and
they lived in Seaforth since. He worked at the
Seaforth Elevator for many years, managing it until
his retirement in 1978. Floyd was a member of St.
Mary's Catholic Church in Seaforth and the Seaforth
American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, building things,
cooking and adapting recipes.
He is survived by his wife
Muriel; Children Richard and wife Rose of Milroy,
Mary Warner and husband Hassan Pirooz of Aberdeen,
S.D., Steven and wife Janice of Browns Valley, Carol
Warner of Chicago, Ill. and Diane Warner of Seaforth;
and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by
his parents and brothers Ray and Ernie.
