Federal Census Roseau County, Minnesota
In 1830, most of what is now
Roseau County was as yet unorganized territory. A very small section in
the northwest corner was part of Chippewa county in the Michigan
Territory. This federal census is extant.1

Roseau County was part of the Iowa Territory. The same very small
section of the northwest corner referenced above was now part of
Wisconsin Territory. This federal census is extant.1

territory. In 1850, all of what is now Roseau County was in Pembina
County in the Minnesota Territory. Just over half of what was then
Pembina County is now part of North Dakota. This federal census is
