The Minnesota Death Certificate
Index covers the years 1908-1966 and is online at the Minnesota
Historical Society's website (http://people.mnhs.org/dci/Search.cfm).
If you find the name you are
looking for and would like a copy of the certificate, Lynn will copy
and mail the certificate to you. The cost is $3.00 per certificate.
To request a
copy:

Put MN
Death Index in the subject line.

Include the following in the body of your email:
Certificate ID#, full name of the individual, date of death,
county in which s/he died.

There is no
limit to the number of certificates you can request.

Lookups
Lynn will do obituary lookups
in any newspaper available at the Minnesota Historical Society (http://collections.mnhs.org/newspapers/arsearch.html).
If you would like an obituary
lookup, Lynn will do the lookup and mail it to you.
If you know the
date of death of the individual:

Put MN
Obituary Lookup in the subject line.

Include the
following in the body of your email: full name of the individual,
date of death, city and county in which s/he died.

There is no
limit to the number of certificates you can request.

The cost to
search one newspaper is $5.00. To search all newspapers covering
that area is $8.00. Search consists of 7 days after the date of
death in daily newspapers and 4 weeks after the date of death in
weekly newspapers.

know the date of death of the individual the guidelines are the same
as above EXCEPT:
