There appears to be some confusion with this record because:

Irene A. Nordling said her grandfather, John H. Anderson, left his home in Killerod, Skane, Sweden and came to Kennedy in 1887. His wife, Anna, and two year old son, John Alfred, followed in the spring of 1888. They stayed for a short time with Grandma's sister's family, the J. P. Tykesons, and then rented a house from Andrew Bengston, where Bennie Bengstson lived. After about a year, they homesteaded a quarter section of land in Jupiter Township, ten miles east of Kennedy and built a small log house. Family lore has it that Grandpa walked the entire distance to Crookston to file his claim.

A new house was built in 1900 which still stands.
