Hallock, Minn. - LaMar Anderson, 74, Hallock, died at the Kittson County Memorial Healthcare Center, Hallock, Monday, April 1, 2002.

LaMar Arnold Anderson was born in Jupiter Township of Kittson County on April 18, 1927, the son of Ernest H. and Alma (Carlson) Anderson.

He was raised in Thompson Township and attended one year of high school in Hallock before he transferred to the Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston where he graduated in 1944.

LaMar served in the Army during WWII. He returned to Hallock after his military service and on Aug. 5, 1950 he married Mary Etta Carlson.

LaMar owned and operated the Anderson Aerial Crop Spraying and Road Construction Company. He established and maintained the sanitary landfill operation near Hallock until his retirement.

LaMar enjoyed his family and friends. He loved having a good time and was known for his wonderful sense of humor. He did everything with a passion, worked hard and played hard.

LaMar was a past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2617 and the American Legion. LaMar loved fishing and hunting and was a member of the "Six Star Deer Camp." He owned an eight millimeter movie camera and he has movies from the late 40's and early 50's, recording their wedding and family moments for many years. His last years were spent converting these movies to video so that everyone could enjoy them.

Family members include his wife, Mary Etta; three daughters, Diane (James)Hahn, Pierz; Marsha Wilson, Hill City, and Wanda (Don) Nelson, Orange, Calif.; two sons, Brian (Tressa) Anderson, Hallock, and Dennis Anderson also of Hallock; 12 grandchildren, Jeannette (Bruce) Hahn Lund, Shay Hahn, Shane (Susan) Wilson, Nicole Anderson, Cazey Anderson, Tajia Anderson, Chelsea Wilson, Adam Nelson, Greg Nelson, Donny Nelson, Hunter Nelson, and Quentin Nelson; and six great-grandchildren, Britta and John Lund, Brittney, Jacob, Shayanna and Montana Wilson; two brothers, Charles (Marilyn) Anderson, Hallock and David (Marleen) Anderson, Terre Haute, Ind.; and two sisters, Donna Lou Teien, Edina, and Almae (John) Larson, Rochester, as well as nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and and infant son, Daniel.

Funeral services were Friday, April 5, 2002, 2 p.m. in Grace Lutheran Church, Hallock. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery, Hallock. Rev. Robert Kippley, presided.

Honorary pallbearers were Sherwood Anderson, Richard Nicholson, John C. Reff, Raymond Clinton, Willard Pearson and Clare Nelson.

Pallbearers were Paul Blomquist, John Blomquist, Scott Nelson, Troy Larson, Kevin Waller and Curtis Forfang.

Hughes Funeral Home, Hallock was in charge of arrangements.
