Hill City, Minn - Marsha Lu Anderson Wilson, age 49, Hill City and formerly of Hallock, died Saturday May 31, 2003 at Park Rapids, Minn.
The former Marsha Lu Anderson was born the daughter of LaMar and Mary Etta (Carlson) Anderson at Hallock, July 7, 1953. She grew up and attended school in Hallock and graduated from Lancaster High School in 1971.
She was united in marriage to Michael Wilson in 1971. They lived in Minneapolis for a short time and moved to California. Marsha later moved back to Minneapolis where she lived for 15 years. It was there she met John Peterson. In 1991, they moved to Hill City.
Marsha was a staff member in the activities department of the DAC in Grand Rapids. She attended St. Andrew's Lutheran Church of Grand Rapids. She worked as a volunteer for the Forget Me Not Foundation, a therapeutic horseback riding association for the developmentally disabled. This was a special organization to Marsha and she had, for many years, devoted endless hours of her time to it.
Family members include her life-mate John Peterson, Hill City; a son Shane M. Wilson, Isanti; a daughter Chelsea E. Wilson Peterson, Hill City; her mother Mary Etta Anderson, Hallock; two sisters Diane (James) Hahn, Pierz, Minn; Wanda Nelson, Orange, Calif.; two brothers Brian (Tressa) Anderson and Dennis Anderson both of Hallock; four grandchildren Brittney, Jacob, Shayanna, and Montana, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, father, and an infant brother Daniel LaMar.
Funeral services were Tuesday, June 3, 2003, 11 a.m. in Grace Lutheran Church, Hallock, with Rev. Tim Lofstrom, officiating.
Pallbearers were Shay Hahn, Cazey Anderson, Bruce Lund, James Adkins, Greg Wilson, and John Wilson.
Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery, Hallock.
Arrangements were with Hughes Funeral Home, Hallock.
