Susan Grzadzieleski

Drayton, ND - Susan M. Grzadzieleski, 57, Drayton, died April 9, 2004 at Unity Medical Center at Grafton, after a long battle with cancer.

Susan Marie Anderson was born at Grafton, Sept. 16, 1946, the daughter of Orville and Phoebe (Staskivige) Anderson.

She was reared and educated in Tioga, ND and graduated from high school in Drayton in 1964. She attended Bernell's Hair Acadamy in Grand Forks and after graduation worked as a beauty operator in Grafton, Hallock, and Drayton.

On July 1, 1972, she was united in marriage to James Grzadzieleski at Drayton. Following their marriage, they made their home on the farm west of Stephen. In 1998, they moved to Drayton where she resided until her death.

She was a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church of Drayton, and also a member of the Altar Society. She served as vice president of the Drayton Ox Cart Trails Historical Society, and was a member of the Today's Women Homemakers. Susan cherished the visits by her special friends during her illness. She was a "people person" and also loved her animals.

Family members include her husband James and sons, Andrew and Derek of Drayton; her mother Phoebe Anderson, Drayton; and a brother, Patrick Anderson, St. Paul.

She was preceded in death by her father, Orville Anderson.

Funeral services were 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 14, 2004, St. Edward's Catholic Church at Drayton, with Father William Ovsak officiating.

Pallbearers were Charles Herseth, Roger Weinlaeder, Gerald Staskivige, Larry Scharmer, Sylvester Klinicke, and Francis Kowalski.

Interment was in St. Edward's Cemetery at Drayton.

Adamson-Austin Funeral Home, Drayton, assisted the family with arrangements.
