Dorothy H. Bergh, age 80, of St. Vincent, Minn., died on Wednesday, August 7, 2002, at Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, N.D. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Aug. 12, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Pembina Pioneer United Methodist Church, Pembina, N.D. Visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. with an 8 p.m. prayer service at the church. Burial in St. Vincent Cemetery. Arrangements are with Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier.Dorothy Hazel Goldstrand was born Oct. 24, 1921, at Williams, Minn., the daughter of Gust and Mary (Coffield) Goldstrand.On June 29, 1940, she married Arlo Bergh at Hallock, Minn.She is survived by her husband Arlo; children, John (Sharon) Bergh, West Fargo, N.D.; Arlene (Ron) Curtis, Waterloo, Neb., Orlin (Sherry) Bergh, Baytown, Texas; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Pearl Schmidt, Bend, Ore., Florence Johnson, Laramie, Wyo., brothers, Dale Goldstrand in Colorado, Carl and Orin Goldstrand, both in Oregon, sister-in-law, Mary Jane Goldstrand, Lake Bronson, Minn. Dorothy was active in the North Star Church and both the Humboldt and Pembina Methodist churches. She helped found the Senior Citizens Group in St. Vincent. She was always ready to give a helping hand. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Loann Misson; sister, Shirley Hunter; brothers, Lawrence and Gene; and an infant daughter.Clergy: Rev. Arlo O. Bergh
Arlo O. Bergh, 84, of St. Vincent, Minn., died on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002, at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002 at 10 a.m. at the Pembina Pioneer United Methodist Church, Pembina, N.D. Visitation will be held on Monday, Sept. 23 from 6 to 7:30 p.m., with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service and Masonic service at the church. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial in St. Vincent Cemetery, St. Vincent, Minn. Arrangements with Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, N.D.
Arlo O. Bergh was born June 6, 1918, at Gully, Minn., the son of John and Olga (Hoven) Bergh. He grew up and attended school in Red River Township of Kittson County, Minn., and graduated from high school at the Crookston Agricultural College. He farmed in the Hallock and St. Vincent areas.
On June 29, 1940, he married Dorothy H. Goldstrand in Hallock, Minn. Dorothy Bergh passed away on Aug. 7, 2002.
He was a member of the Hallock and Pembina Masonic Lodges and was an active member of the Pembina Pioneer United Methodist Church. Arlo wrote the St. Vincent Senior Citizens news for the Pembina New Era under the pen name Ole.
He is survived by his children, John (Sharon) Bergh, West Fargo, N.D., Arlene (Ron) Curtis, Waterloo, Neb., Orlin (Sherry) Bergh, Baytown, Texas., 12 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, brothers, Elmore (Elsie) Bergh and Jay (Joyce) Bergh, both of Hallock.
Arlo was also preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Loann Misson, and sister, Jeanette Bedard.
