John Bergh sent the following account of encountering a wolf to Mike Rustad:
Once in the year 1970 or 71, I was snowmobiling out in the eastern country. That would be somewhere north east of the old Levi Diamond place. I came across a large wolf running in the distance. I put the chase on him as any normal kid would do but I never go closer than about a quarter of a mile. He dived into the brush and I never saw him again. He was probably watching me from the brush and laughing. I've heard that they have a great sense of humor. Anyway, it looked big enough to be a timber wolf. That is my wolf encounter and I'm sticking to it. John B.
