Farley Bowman, 82, died Saturday, March 1, 1997, at the Dove Health Care Center. He was born in Hallock, Dec. 19, 1914 to Reuben and Margaret (Wilson) Bowman. He grew up in the Hallock area. He joined the U.S. Army during World War II and served in Normandy, France, Germany and Luxembourg. After the war he lived in Menomonie and was an amusement machine mechanic. In 1956, he marrried Edith Meyers and moved to Eau Claire. Bowman was a member and past commander of VFW Post #7232. He is survived by a stepson, Wayne (Kathy) Meyers, Eau Claire; a granddaughter and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edith; a grandson, three sisters, Lenore Bowman, Ruby Haines and Dorothy Deere; and three brothers, Lester Bowman, Ray Bowman, and Glen Bowman. Services were Sunday, March 9, Smith Funeral Chapel, The Rev. Christopher Myers officiating. Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery.
