Glen Bowman, 83, Kennedy, died Saturday, Jully 6, 1996 at Lakewood Health Center in Baudette. Glen was born the son of Rueben and Margaret (Wilson) Bowman at Northcote, Feb. 27, 1913. He moved to Kennedy where he was employed at teh Kiene Farm for over 35 years. On Aug. 3, 1940, he married Violet Jacobson at Kennedy.
In the late 1940's he became engaged in farming on his own in the Kennedy area where he lived and farmed until his death. He was a member of the Maria Lutheran Church, Kennedy.
Family survivors include his wife, Violet, Kennedy; sons, Byron (Janis) Bowman and Brent (Jody) Bowman, Kennedy; daughters Bonnie (Al) Tyszelman, St. Paul; Barbara (Don) Johnson, Dublin, Ohio; Beth (Robert) Gatheridge, Kennedy; 15 grandchildren; one great grandchild; a sister, Dorothy Deere, Kennedy; and a brother, Farley Bowman, Eau Clair, WI
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Margaret Bowman; sisters Lenore Bowman and Ruby Haines; and brothers, Lesteer and Ray Bowman.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 9, Maria Lutheran Church, Kennedy. Rev. Carl Seamon, presiding.
Interment was in Kennedy Cemetery.
Pallbearers were his grandsons, Shawn Tyszelman, Jeremy, Jason and Nathan Bowman; Brian and Bradley Gatheridge; and Blake Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were Glen's many relatives and friends. Music was provided by Mindy Dahl, Jim Petersburg and Ruth Hockstra. Hughes Funeral Home, Hallock, was in charge of the arrangements.
