PEI He was a farmer on the Dock Road. He and Jane Brander were 1st cousins.
Her mother was sister to Charles' father.

1865; d. 29 Nov 1937. They were married by Methodist minister, Rev. D. H.
Hodge, of the West Cape Circuit. Charlotte Matthews and A. R. Campbell were
witnesses. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on 01 Jan 1937.
They had the following children: Margaret, John, Mabel, Jennie, Brander,
Ross, Hessell, David, Lulu, Everett, William and Frances.

Hawarden, Sask.), brother of Jessie. They were married by Rev. Arthur F.
Carr, Presbyterian Minister. William Forsythe and Mary Amelia Matthews were
witnesses. John is the brother of T.A.'s wife, Jessie Campbell. After living
for a time in Milburn, PEI, they went to Hawarden, Saskatchewan and settled
on a farm. They had one son, Ralph. John is brother of Jessie Campbell.
3. John Brander Matthews
B: 01 Aug 1865, Elmsdale, PEI
D: 26 Sep 1945, Creelman, Saskatchewan
M: 31 Aug 1891, in Cambridge, MA, Annie Mertie Thompson of Malpeque, PEI
b. 15 May 1865 d. 17 Nov 1949. She was the sister of Edward Thompson who
married John's sister, Charlotte. They lived in PEI and Boston, MA before
moving to a farm in Creelman, Sask. They had one son, Peston, and five daughters:
Ella, Edith, Eva, Nina and Mildred.
4. Alexander Allan Matthews
B: 02 May 1867, Elmsdale, PEI
D: 03 Sep 1941, Elmsdale, PEI bur. Elmsdale United Church Cemetery
M: 26 Dec 1895, Pauline MacNeil, of Elmsdale b. 09 Jun 1868 d. 1961. They
lived on the homestead in the Dock where Allan's parents, Charles and Margaret
Jane Matthews, had lived. They had no children.
5. Charlotte Evelyn Matthews (Lottie)
B: 24 Mar 1869, Elmsdale, PEI
D: 06 Apr 1951, Elmsdale, PEI bur. Elmsdale United Church Cemetery
M: Edward Lidstone Thompson, Alberton, a brother of Annie Thompson who married
John Matthews. They lived in Malpeque before moving to Western Canada where
they resided for some years. Later they returned to PEI and made their home
in Alberton. They had no family

(Winnie) Jane Matthews

family was: Edna, Pearl, Roy, Walter and Kenneth.

married and resided in the Dock with her brother, Allan, on the homestead.
11. James Percy Matthews

M: 29 Jun 1904, in Alberton, Agnes Mae Williams of Elmsdale B: 20 Oct 1885
d. Jun 1968, Hills River. They lived in Hill's River. Agnes was daughter
of David and Marion Horne Williams and they established a home in Hills
River where they raised a family of nine children. As was the custom then,
the four sons went to Boston when they became old enough to get employment.
They arrived and made their homes there. Four of the five daughters married
and lived in PEI. The remaining daughter, Lois, after her marriage resided
in Toronto.
