Fargo, N.D. - James 0. Clow, 69, died Monday, March 25, 2002, in his Fargo home after a long battle with heart disease.

Jim Was born Aug, 9, 1932, in Lancaster. He graduated from Lancaster High School in 1950, and shortly thereafter was drafted into service for the Korean War.

Jim belonged to the II th armored cavalry regiment of the U.S. Army, serving at both Camp Carson, Colorado, and Fort Knox, Kentucky.

On Dec. 26, 1953, he married Barbara Rae Peterson in Lancaster and they settled in Fargo.

Jim graduated from Moler Barber College and Dakota Business ColIege. He worked for 40 years as a barber in Fargo, and owned the Graver Barbers in downtown Fargo for 25 years until his retirement in 1995.

He served as an officer in the Dakota State Barber Association for 10 years, including as President for his last two years.

After retirement, Jim served as President for the North Dakota Barber Board of Examiners. He also continued to cut hair for special friends in area nursing homes.

Jim was active in community service through local organizations including the El Zagal Shrine, American Legion, Kiwanis, Jaycees, Crisis HotLine, Fargo Chamber of Commerce, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America. Jim nurtured his Christian faith at First Lutheran Church in Fargo, where he served as an usher for many years, was President of the congregation for one term, and provided general volunteer support where needed.

Jim is survived by his wife, Barbara; his two sons, Tom (Toni), Fargo, and Scott (Rebecca), Federal Way, Wash.; two brothers, Don (Patsy), Hopkins, and Earl (Marlys), Onalaska, Wis.; one sister, Mae Jacobson, Shakopee; and five wonderful grandchildren, Ivan and Anders, Fargo, and Noah, Sarah and Nathaniel, Federal Way, Wash.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur L. and Frida V. Clow; three brothers, Elmer, Ivan, and William, and one sister, Ruth Wyman.

Memorial services were Saturday, March 30, 2002, 2 p.m., First Lutheran Church, Fargo.
